All About Me
My name is Lindsey M. Mancuso. I am a student at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) where I am earning my Master's of Science in Communication Disorders. I graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU), Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Psychology in May 2013. I chose my major and minor because I enjoy working with people with disabilities, especially adults whom have experienced traumatic brain injuries. My longterm career goal is to be a certified speech-language pathologist in a medical setting.
Along with my coursework in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Psychology, I am a LSU Distinguished Communicator Recipient. To complete the program, I took twenty-one hours of Communicative-Intensive courses emphasizing the building of communication skills, specifically in the areas of spoken, visual, written, and technological communication. The experience allowed me to perfect these areas of communication, taught me to be an effective leader, and provided me with skills that will be applicable as a speech-language pathologist.
During my time at LSU, I remained active inside and outside of the community through my involvement in various programs. Some of these programs included Delta Zeta Sorority, The Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, and National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (LSU Chapter). At UTD, I am an active member in the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (UTD Chapter), a Teacher's Assistant for the Preverbal Communication Program on campus, and a member of the Texas Speech and Hearing Association.
This website showcases my work completed during my undergraduate experience at LSU. Please feel free to navigate my site and gain a better understanding of who I am as a person, student, researcher, leader, philanthropist, and future clinician.
***UPDATES OF MY COURSEWORK AND CLINICAL EXPERIENCES WITHIN MY GRADUATE PROGRAM SOON TO COME!***
